Cincinnati United SC Expands to the West Side of Cincinnati: A New Chapter in a Legacy of Community and Excellence.
Cincinnati United Soccer Club (CUSC), the region’s largest non-profit youth soccer club, is proud to announce the launch of a new community on the west side of the Cincinnati Metro Area. This strategic expansion continues the club’s long-standing tradition of collaboration and player-focused growth, while responding to increasing demand from families seeking high-quality soccer development closer to home.
With a legacy rooted in unity and opportunity, Cincinnati United began as the Greater Cincinnati Soccer Alliance in the early 1990s and formally merged into one organization in 2008. Since then, CU has grown into one of the Midwest’s most respected clubs, offering players from U8 to U19 the opportunity to develop through its CU and CUP brands—each grounded in a philosophy that values character, growth, and community.
“Our mission has always been to ensure that players from every corner of the region have access to a best-in-class soccer experience,” said Chief Executive Officer Blake Decker. “By creating a home for families on the west side of Cincinnati, we’re continuing that commitment—meeting players where they are and helping them reach where they want to go.”
The new community, CU Northwest, will train at facilities in and around Colerain Township, Fairfield, and Hamilton, Ohio—making it a convenient and accessible option for families living in these vibrant and growing soccer communities.
This expansion is also a natural next step for Cincinnati United. The club already serves a significant number of players from the northwest corridor within its CUP programs. By establishing CU Northwest, Cincinnati United will bring more resources, coaching, and player development opportunities directly to this region—creating an even stronger and more sustainable pathway closer to home for current and future players.
CU Northwest will also serve as the foundation for the upcoming CUP West program—an exciting initiative that will bring national-level league access to the west side of Cincinnati for both boys and girls. The addition of CUP West will reduce travel demands while expanding high-level opportunities for players who aspire to compete at the highest levels of youth soccer.
“The introduction of CU Northwest and CUP West represents an exciting next step in our mission to make high-level soccer more accessible across Greater Cincinnati,” said Scott Bower, Director of Soccer at CUSC. “We know there are passionate players and families on the west side, and we’re proud to bring our resources, competitive pathways, and coaching expertise to help build on the foundation already in place. Our goal is to elevate the experience and create more opportunities for players to grow, compete, and reach their full potential—closer to home.”
