Cincinnati United Soccer Club Launches Transformational Partnership with Working with Parents in Sport.

Cincinnati, OH – July 26th – Cincinnati United Soccer Club (CUSC) is thrilled to announce a dynamic new partnership with Working with Parents in Sport (WWPIS), a globally respected organization dedicated to building stronger connections between coaches, parents, and players. This collaboration represents a bold step forward in Cincinnati United’s commitment to holistic player development and community engagement.

After months of planning and collaboration behind the scenes, CUSC and WWPIS are rolling out a full club-wide initiative designed to positively impact every level of the organization—from players and parents to coaches and leadership. Through live workshops, engaging webinars, and a customized WWPIS-Cincinnati United digital platform, families and staff will receive year-round education and support to improve the youth sports experience.

A highlight of this partnership is the “Our Sporting Journey” booklet, a fun and meaningful resource that will be provided to every player in CUSC’s incoming U8 age group. This interactive guide helps young athletes reflect on their development, set goals, and embrace the joy of learning through sport.

In addition, Cincinnati United has co-branded the globally acclaimed book “Sports Performance Parenting”, offering families practical advice and powerful insights on how to best support their young athletes—on and off the field. This resource, along with the live sessions, aims to build alignment between home and club, helping all adults in a child’s soccer journey pull in the same direction.

Gordon MacLelland, CEO and Founder of WWPIS, shared his excitement:

“This is such an exciting partnership for us. High-quality relationships between management, coaches, parents, and young players are critical—but they don’t happen by accident. This comprehensive program aligns messaging, fosters connection, and drives dynamic, positive change across the club. It’s inspiring to be part of such a forward-thinking organization.”

Hugh Seyfarth, Director of Coaching at Cincinnati United SC, echoed that energy:

“Working with Gordon and WWPIS is an absolute game-changer for our club. Gordon truly understands the complexities of the youth sports environment and offers real-world tools that bring coaches and parents onto the same team. When we all work better together—coaches, parents, and the club—the biggest winner is always the player. That’s what this partnership is all about.”

This initiative underscores Cincinnati United's belief that the strongest support systems start with education, trust, and shared purpose. The result? A club culture where every child can thrive.
