Once you have entered PlayMetrics you will be able to scroll through and choose which of the communities above is best for you, and then register for tryouts.
Can you give me more information on the options for U7 players and younger?
We will be holding tryouts sessions for U7 players and they can attend along with the U8 age group. You will see details listed on the main options on this page. You can also visit our Juniors page HERE to learn more about this age group.
Do I need to register my child for more than one night?
No. Most options will include at least one tryout date. We would love it if you came to both, but it's not compulsory. You just need to sign up once and then you can turn up for either / all sessions on the night.
Once I have registered for tryouts, what happens next?
We want all players from outside the club to attend at least one (and ideally all) of the tryout nights listed.
Note that for all existing players we make decisions on internal placement based upon our observations of them throughout the season. Attendance at tryouts for these players will be communicated through the usual channels and will follow the process that will be outlined in your spring age group meeting.
All current players in Cincinnati United SC must register through PlayMetrics. If you have any issues with registration, you may contact Lisa Hausser at LHausser@cincinnatiunitedsc.com or you may receive assistance at an ID Session or Tryout from the admin at the checkin. We prefer, for efficiency, that the player is registered prior to attending any sessions.
All external players, we ask that you attend as many tryouts or ID sessions possible for a full evaluation. There are times where the staff can recommend other programs within the club if that is the best fit for your child.
For internal players, some teams may be asked by club technical leadership to attend a session to help with external player evaluations. In a typical season the current CUSC player evaluations as to the best team for them the following year occurs throughout the year not on a singular tryout date.
When will we know which coach will work with which team?
We will announce coaching assignments in due course. Please see our social media channels as we have begun to release Head Coach announcements beginning with MLS Next and Girls Academy and will continue with all programs as we get closer to tryout time.

What Age Group Is My Child?
Beginning in the fall of 2026, all youth soccer leagues and clubs in the country will have switched to a 'school-year' registration format. Commonly known as 'school year’, this is however based on date of birth and not the school grade of the player. Please see matrix below for age restriction cutoffs shared by all clubs in the country.
The sole exception is the MLS Homegrown league, and our U13-U19 CUP Boys (now known as the Premier Boys Program) will continue using birth year.
You can also view the age matrix HERE.
If you are a current member and would like further clarification on any of this then please check recent emails or speak to an Age Group or Technical Director.
